Baptism

The first of the Sacraments of Initiation

Without baptism no other sacrament can be validly received. The old man of sin in us is put to death and buried with Christ in order that we may live a new risen life of grace as a member of His Church. Baptism washes away Original Sin and any past personal sins, it gives the character of an adopted child of God and member of Christ’s mystical body, and it plants the seeds of Eternal Life. You may also receive this as an adult if you are not baptized and want to receive instruction and enter the Catholic Church as a member of Mater Misericordiae.

Children under 7 years of age may receive an infant baptism

Children ages 5-17 will need to join our C.C.D. program

Adults 18+ must join RCIA when registrations are open in the fall
