Confirmation

Second of the Sacraments of Initiation

This sacrament is where the fullness of the virtues and gifts of the Holy Ghost and the character of a Christian Soldier is given. Confirmation ought to be received in the state of grace, preceded by a good confession and while fasting. Confirmation is normally reserved to the Diocesan Bishop in all cases except for those adults who enter the Catholic Church by receiving the Sacrament of Baptism at their parish.

The Diocese of Phoenix follows the more traditional policy of giving Confirmation to children prior to their receiving their First Holy Communion.

Registered families with children ages 5-17 may join our C.C.D. program when registrations are open to prepare to receive their Sacrament of Confirmation.

Adults 18+ must join RCIA when registrations are open in the fall.
