KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

p

Charity – Unity – Fraternity – Patriotism

Founded 130 years ago by the Venerable Father Michael McGivney at St. Mary’s parish in New Haven, CT. We are Catholic men putting our faith in action to defend, serve, & protect families.

Our Mission

The Knights of Columbus, named after the explorer Christopher Columbus, is a global Catholic fraternal service and the longest-running group of any kind at our parish.  It has been successful as an order throughout our country and the world since its founding by Blessed Michael J. McGivney in 1882 and is now 2 million men strong. The Knights support and defend our priests while practicing the three principles of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity.  The  Knights is also a fraternal benefit society providing financial security to members and their families, while turning premiums into charitable impact.

Mater Misericordiae Council 15576 was chartered in 2012 and since then has been involved in numerous service projects in support of our parish, from Seminarian support to Sunday donut and coffee provision, the children’s Christmas poster contest, property clean-up, aid to local pregnancy centers, and many more.  Fraternity, faith formation, and service are core aspects of its meetings, held the third Saturday of each month, at 5:30PM at Mater Misericordiae.  It is open to all practical adult male Catholics and is a great way to integrate with committed Catholic men at other parishes and throughout the state and country.

Who can participate?

Men 18+ who want to live a life of faith in action.
